Khon Kaen, December 11, 2025 – The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSO) at Khon Kaen University (KKU) hosted its second “Clothes Swap” event at the HUSO Learning Center, establishing a platform for the casual exchange of clothing, fashion ideas, and social interaction.

The initiative was initiated by Ms. Sophie Grobe, an instructor in German, in collaboration with Ms. Vanessa Moll, Ms. Hannah Thompson, and Mr. Lloyd Naylor from the HUSO English Corner.

Core Objectives of the Event

  • Sustainability: Mitigating global warming by reducing the demand for new clothing driven by fast-changing fashion trends, and encouraging conscious dressing while maximizing resource utilization.
  • Language Skill Development: Utilizing the activity as a tool for enhancing students' English language skills through practical, cross-cultural communication.

The event received an overwhelming response, with students across diverse programs and year levels actively participating. Attendees exchanged their favorite fashion items, ranging from minimalist and vintage looks to vibrant street fashion, transforming the space throughout the afternoon into a "small fashion market" brimming with enthusiasm and smiles.

The activities extended beyond the simple exchange of garments; the discussions facilitated connecting students from different disciplines, fostering new acquaintances, and sharing knowledge and mutual understanding regarding responsible consumption and social accountability. The Clothes Swap event thus represented more than an exchange of clothes; it delivered an experience that integrated fun, creativity, language practice, and environmental awareness.
