Graduate Exchange: HUSO KKU Hosts Yunnan Normal Students
KHON KAEN, THAILAND—Khon Kaen University's (KKU) Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSO) officially launched a short-term program on October 31, 2025, welcoming Chinese master's students from Yunnan Normal University for a cultural and academic exchange focusing on the Thai language.
The orientation, which kicked off the short course, was attended by over 20 executives and faculty members. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean of the Faculty, presided over the opening ceremony at the Rattanapittaya Building's Smart Classroom.
The program is a joint collaboration between HUSO KKU and the Faculty of Chinese Language and Culture at Yunnan Normal University, China. It is designed to foster mutual understanding and academic cooperation, marking a significant step in promoting the bilateral relationship between the two institutions.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Benyatip Supakalin, Director of the HUSO Language Centre, presented the official report, while Asst. Prof. Dr. Thinnawat Sroikudrua, Chair of the Master of Arts Program in Thai's Executive Committee, offered a welcome and introduced the faculty.
The curriculum aims to equip graduate students with the skills to effectively apply the Thai language in academic, communication, and research contexts. By living and studying on the KKU campus, the Chinese students will gain crucial real-life cultural exposure that is expected to strengthen relations and cooperation between Thailand and the People's Republic of China in the long term.
