Khon Kaen University Strengthens Ties with Southern and Northern Universities in Collaborative Tradition Exchange Program
Khon Kaen University (KKU) recently joined forces with Prince of Songkla University (PSU) and Chiang Mai University (CMU) for the 8th annual "3 Powers for the Land" project, focused on the exchange of knowledge and preservation of cultural traditions. Held in Phuket from October 18-19, 2024, the event saw administrators and faculty members from the three institutions participate in various activities aimed at fostering collaboration and promoting sustainable development.
Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at KKU, led the university's delegation. The program, hosted by PSU, included a welcome address by University President Assistant Professor Dr. Niwat Kaewpradab, as well as a session with university leaders sharing institutional policies and future directions. A highlight of the event was a special lecture by former Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation, Professor Dr. Anek Laothamatas, on "The Future of Thai Higher Education and Human Resource Development."
Participants engaged in afternoon breakout sessions, facilitating knowledge sharing on various topics relevant to organizational development and academic collaboration. The "3 Powers for the Land" initiative seeks to solidify relationships between the universities and cultivate a shared sense of purpose. The collaborative efforts aim to translate shared knowledge into tangible actions that benefit communities and contribute to long-term social development. The universities expressed their commitment to continuing this exchange program and implementing practical solutions for a sustainable future.
