On 26 March 2026, Khon Kaen University received the Plaque of Honor for their outstanding exhibition at the Thailand Pavilion, Expo 2025 Osaka Kansai. Assistant Professor Dr. Prapas Kaewketpong, Vice Dean of HUSO, received the award on behalf of the university.

KKU presented “Path of Faith: Mutelu and the Enchanting Charms of Upper Isan,” an innovation blending local wisdom, belief, and cultural tourism to promote mental wellness. The project garnered significant attention from international audiences, especially from Japan.

This achievement highlights KKU's capability to elevate regional heritage to global recognition while contributing to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
