HUSO Tackles Blood Shortage Crisis with Nationwide Donation Event

On October 20, 2021, at 9:00 a.m., the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University with the Student Development and International Affairs Group Organized blood donation activities to help in critical situations where blood is scarce.  At present, Thailand is faced with the COVID- 19 virus epidemic causing fewer people to donate blood, resulting in insufficient blood being available until there was a blood shortage crisis across the country. The use of blood to treat patients is still an urgent ongoing need, particularly for the large numbers of new patients

For this event, there was an opportunity for interested persons, whether students, faculty members, or Khon Kaen University personnel, to donate blood at Sala Khan Khong of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences. Strict measures were in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and online registration with allocated times helped to reduce congestion. There was a hand sanitizer available at every service point.  The blood donation day involved cooperation, in the form of services and facilities, from the Central Blood Warehouse, Faculty of Medicine, Khon Kaen University.  The total number of donors was 73 people.

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Khon Kaen University has opened an area where it is possible to donate blood continuously. If you are interested, you can get more details and information on the Facebook page or https://huso.kku.ac.th.
