Commencement Ceremony for Dual-degree Graduates, Year 2020
On 15 December 2020, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Faculty of Education with the Confucius Institute, Khon Kaen University held the commencement ceremony for 35 graduates of the Business Chinese Program, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and 22 graduates of Teaching Chinese as a Foreign Language Program, Faculty of Education, who graduated from the dual-degree programs of Khon Kaen University and Southwest University, People's Republic of China. As the study programs are dual-degree programs, graduates have received two certificates from both Khon Kaen University and Southwest University. The hosts were honored to have the President of Khon Kaen University, Assoc. Prof. Chanchai Panthongwiriyakul, as the certificate granters to the graduates. On this special occasion, the President also congratulated the graduates: "All graduates here are considered to be academically and culturally successful people because you had an opportunity to receive education from both Thailand and China, a country with wisdom and civilization for more than five thousand years. You had the opportunity to learn the Chinese language directly with native speakers. You have also learned various Chinese cultures from the real way of living of Chinese people. Thus, you are now equipped with knowledge and experience. I hope that you will use your knowledge and experience to benefit your work or further study at a higher level. Ready graduates must also seek modern knowledge. This will support your life and work to be smooth and progressive. In addition, as you used to live and have gained advantages from the land of China, you should have the duty to build and promote good relations between Thailand and China continually."
