KKU's Humanities & Social Sciences Forges Ties with Florida International University
Khon Kaen University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Discusses Academic Collaboration with Florida International University (FIU) for Dual Degree Programs and Student Exchange
Khon Kaen, Thailand – June 24, 2025 – The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (HUSO) at Khon Kaen University (KKU), led by Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean, along with administrators and lecturers from the Mekong Studies program, welcomed Professor Dr. Khokiat Kengskool, Professor of Practice (Industrial Engineering) and Director of International Programs for Southeast Asia in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, College of Engineering & Computing at Florida International University (FIU) in the United States.
During his visit, Professor Dr. Kengskool met with Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura to discuss academic collaboration in Asian Studies, covering both curriculum development and research. Key points of the discussion focused on establishing a Dual Degree Program between the two universities, as well as fostering faculty and student exchange programs. These exchanges would include both short-term and long-term (one academic year) opportunities, aiming to promote cross-cultural learning and expand international academic networks.
This discussion marks a significant step in building an academic partnership between Khon Kaen University and an international institution. This collaboration is expected to enhance teaching and learning capabilities, research, and the production of graduates with a global perspective.
