Khon Kaen University’s Humanities and Social Sciences Faculty Signs MOU with NIDA to Drive Knowledge-Based Public Policy Towards Sustainable Development

On April 4, 2025, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura (Dean of the Faculty), together with Dr. Nathatai Manadee (Associate Dean for Administration and Corporate Communications), Assistant Professor Dr. Prapas Kaewketpong (Associate Dean for Strategic Planning and Proactive Strategy), Dr. Kantaphong Chitkla (Associate Dean for Education and Digital Affairs), Ms. Phennapa Wansaseub (Director of the Faculty’s Administrative Office), and other staff members, participated in a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic collaboration.

The MOU was signed between the Center for Public Policy Research under the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, represented by Acting Director Assistant Professor Dr. Rakphong Sansri, and the Center for Sustainable Development and Sufficiency Economy Studies (CSSE) at the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), represented by Associate Professor Pol. Lt. Col. Dr. Kasemsarn Chotchakornpant, Director of the Center, along with his team.

The purpose of this collaboration is to promote research, knowledge exchange, and the sustainable development of public policies. The signing ceremony took place at Room 803, 8th Floor, Veraphirum Building, NIDA.

This MOU marks a significant step in building an academic collaboration network between the two institutions. It aims to promote policy-oriented research as well as the philosophy of the sufficiency economy and sustainable development at a national level. Future collaboration will include joint research projects on public policy, community development, and environmental issues, as well as researcher and student exchange programs and knowledge sharing initiatives. These efforts are expected to support mutual learning and continuously enhance academic capabilities, eventually pushing evidence-based policy into practical application.
