On Thursday, March 6, 2025, the English program of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, organized an English speech competition under the theme “Towards a More Sustainable Region: How Can Thailand Shape Mekong Cooperation in Today’s Geopolitical Context.” The event took place at Conference Room 3218, HS.03 Building, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University.
This speech competition was held across four provinces: Songkhla, Chiang Mai, Bangkok, and Khon Kaen. The Khon Kaen round featured ten contestants, each demonstrating their communication skills and presenting their vision on critical issues related to Mekong subregional cooperation and Thailand’s role in promoting sustainability amid an ever-changing geopolitical landscape.

The competition aimed to enhance youth awareness and understanding of key international issues while encouraging their engagement in foreign affairs. It was part of the “Youth Engagement and Public Consultation on Foreign Policy Through Speech Competitions” project, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to mark the 150th anniversary of its establishment.
This initiative provided young participants with a platform to express their perspectives and propose future directions for Thailand’s foreign policy, contributing to discussions that may shape the country’s international strategy.
