Khon Kaen University and Chulalongkorn University Team Up to Improve Thai Language Tests for Foreigners
On Monday, February 17, 2025, Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University, signed an academic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University and the Sirindhorn Thai Language Institute, Chulalongkorn University.
Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Wirote Aroonmanakun, Director of the Sirindhorn Thai Language Institute, formalized the academic cooperation between the two institutions by signing the MoU. Assistant Professor Dr. Prapas Kaewketpong, Associate Dean for Planning and Proactive Strategies, Dr. Umarin Tularak, Head of the Thai Language Department, and personnel from both institutions attended the ceremony, which was held at the Sirindhorn Thai Language Institute, Chulalongkorn University.
The MoU aims to develop international standards for the Test of Thai as a Foreign Language (TH-TFL). This collaboration marks a significant step towards promoting the recognition and acceptance of the Thai language on a global scale. It will also be beneficial for international students, teachers, and anyone interested in the Thai language.
