Warm Welcome for International Students: "HUSO HOME HUGS INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS 2024" at Khon Kaen University

Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Strengthens Ties with International Exchange Students Through Language and Culture Learning!!

On June 27-28, 2024, the International Affairs section of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University organized a project to foster language learning, cultural understanding, and relationships among international exchange students. The initiative aimed to provide these students with an opportunity to study and experience Thai traditions, culture, and local lifestyles in Nakhon Phanom Province. Over 11 international students participated in the project.

Assistant Professor Wassamill Watcharakaweesilp, Assistant Dean for International Affairs, inaugurated the event and took part in the language and culture exchange activities. The activities focused on promoting cultural exchange by having the international students learn about traditional Phu Tai dance, performed by students from Renunakhonwittayanukul School in Renunakhon District, Nakhon Phanom Province.

In addition to the dance activities, there were opportunities for language exchange between the students, teachers, and international participants. This encouraged cross-cultural communication and fostered a deeper understanding of the Thai language and culture. The project not only enhanced the cultural knowledge of the international students but also strengthened the relationships among them.

This initiative is part of the faculty’s ongoing efforts to create a culturally rich and inclusive environment for all students.
