HUSO and Vietnamese Consul-General Discuss Academic Cooperation & Diplomatic Ties
On September 8, 2023, at 3:00 p.m., representatives from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University, led by Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean, along with Assistant Professor Dr. Marasri Sorthip, Vice Dean for Administration, Assistant Professor Dr. Thananan Boonwanna, and Assistant Professor Dr. Silpakit Teekantikul met with Mr. Chu Duc Dung, Consul-General of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in Khon Kaen. The meeting aimed to discuss academic cooperation and strengthen diplomatic ties between the two nations. During this event, Mr. Chu Duc Dung was presented with a vase of flowers to commemorate the 78th anniversary of Vietnam's National Day.
The discussion focused on enhancing academic collaboration between Khon Kaen University's Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Vietnamese Consulate in Khon Kaen Province by increasing the number of inbound and outbound students and promoting teacher and researcher exchanges. Both parties were eager to organize activities supporting and promoting the Vietnamese language and culture, such as special lectures and a Vietnamese Festival. Additionally, they explored potential collaboration in establishing a Center for Vietnam Studies to support future academic initiatives between the institutions.
