KKU Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences Executives Receive Honorary Paratrooper Insignia for Contributions to Border Patrol Police
Khon Kaen, Thailand – July 14, 2025 – Executives from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Khon Kaen University (KKU), including Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean; Assistant Professor Dr. Prapas Kaewketpong, Associate Dean for Planning and Proactive Strategy; Associate Professor Dr. Wipawee Grisanaputi, Assistant Dean for Research and Academic Services; and Dr. Chanavit Anusuren, a lecturer from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, participated in a ceremony to receive the Honorary Paratrooper Insignia and Certificate of Honor from the Royal Thai Police.
The ceremony took place at the Muang Samai Meeting Room, Border Patrol Police Region 2 Headquarters (BPP Region 2). Police Major General Dr. Kittisak Plathong, Commander of Border Patrol Police Region 2, presided over the event and presented the honorary insignia and certificates to:

This prestigious award recognizes individuals who have played a significant role in supporting and promoting the Royal Thai Police's mission, particularly in developing communities in border areas under the supervision of BPP Region 2. Over the past period, the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University has collaborated with BPP Region 2, signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly drive comprehensive development for youth and border communities. This includes continuously organizing training programs and vocational promotion initiatives to enhance skills, knowledge, and quality of life across various dimensions such as careers, education, and personal potential.
These efforts aim to enable border communities to achieve sustainable self-reliance through the integration of academic knowledge from the university into real-world settings. The initiatives also seek to empower communities to keep pace with global changes in economic, social, and cultural aspects.
The ceremony was also attended by distinguished police executives and officers, including Police Colonel Thanawatchara Deeboonmee Na Chumphae, Deputy Commander of Khon Kaen Provincial Police; Police Lieutenant Colonel Worasak Kiatisaktsiri, Deputy Superintendent of Administrative Affairs, BPP Region 2 Headquarters; and Police Lieutenant Colonel Prinya Chantaburi, Inspector of BAAC, Administrative Affairs, BPP Region 2 Headquarters.
Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura expressed her gratitude to the Royal Thai Police and reaffirmed the Faculty's commitment to continuously advance this cooperation. The goal is to develop secure and sustainable border communities in terms of academics, professions, quality of life, and youth potential, aligning with the country's long-term development objectives.
