On August 6, 2024, the Graduate Studies Section of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Khon Kaen University hosted the "HUSO HOME HUGS INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS 2024" event. Held under the auspices of the Kasalong tree in room HS1-4A1-3 at Rattanapithaya Building, the event warmly welcomed international students for the 2024 academic year. Associate Professor Dr. Orathai Piayura, Dean of the Faculty, presided over the event, accompanied by Assistant Professor Dr. Chongrak Liangpanit, Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and faculty members from various departments.

The event began with a heartfelt welcome and an official opening ceremony by Dr. Orathai Piayura. The Dean expressed her joy at meeting students from diverse backgrounds and emphasized the Faculty's dedication to providing a supportive and enriching educational environment. She encouraged students to embrace new experiences, assuring them that the Faculty and University would support them every step of the way.

Over 40 international students from countries such as China, India, Vietnam, and Cambodia attended the event. The Graduate Studies Section provided essential information about pursuing further studies, including research guidelines, academic regulations, and graduation requirements.

The International Affairs Office also outlined important rules for international students, including visa renewal, health insurance, and compliance with Thai law. These guidelines were crucial for ensuring a smooth transition to university life in Thailand.

The event featured the Bai Sri Su Kwan ceremony, a traditional Isaan ritual to welcome and bless the new students, creating an atmosphere of warmth and goodwill. This was followed by a graceful dance performance by the Faculty's Thai dance club.

After the ceremonies, a traditional Isaan feast was served, showcasing the region's unique cuisine. This meal allowed international students to experience Isaan culture, fostering connections and friendships in a warm and friendly setting.

The day concluded with a cultural tour to significant sites such as Wat Pa Thamma Utthayan and Wat Nong Waeng, offering students a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of Khon Kaen. The event was filled with memorable moments, marking a warm and promising beginning to the students' academic journey at Khon Kaen University.
